Redesign, Recolor and Resize

While working on new features, it’s important to improve the basics every now and then. That’s why we redesigned and enhanced all the objects on the board.

There are three simple goals we tried to achieve with this update:

  1. to bring the design of comments, text boxes etc. up to date
  2. to improve the handling of objects on your boards
  3. to add more functionality

Redesign

You may have noticed that the comments on your board look a little different than before. A few added effects can make a big difference!

Since you probably know who you’re working with we hid the names and dates next to the picture. Don’t worry, they show up when hovering over the comment.

The biggest change is probably the object toolbar which we completely redesigned and enhanced. You now find it at the top of every selected object. It’s equipped with a drag handle to make it more simple and elegant to move the objects around.

Get a quick overview of the buttons. Some of them you will only see on specific items (e.g. task status).

Recolor

Another new feature: You are now able to set a background color for text boxes, headlines, rectangles and circles. Please note that headlines and text boxes have a transparent background and border by default. To change the attributes simply click the border or background icon in the object toolbar and select your preferred color.

Resize

We are also happy to announce that we finally implemented this eagerly awaited resize function. All objects, even images or your document’s pages, can now be resized freely. There is also a button to bring them back to the original size (just in case).

We hope you like the new features! And as mentioned before, all of them are already available on your boards.

April in retrospect

Let’s give a short review, what happened at Conceptboard in april.

Storys about conceptboard:

Development at conceptboard:

Grid view in the boards overview

We teased it yesterday, that we want to add an overview for visual type persons. So now you have it, we introduce the grid view.

The Grid view emphasizes the thumbnail of the board and reduces clutter to make room for the visual board representation. The title and administrative functions are available on hover. We hope this appeals to visual type thinkers.

With this view we now have 3 distinct displays in the boards overview:

  • combined: a thumbnail, open tasks, meta informations and administrative functions
  • list: the title, open tasks and reduced meta informations
  • grid: preview image, open task

All views give quick access to the administrative functions. List and grid view show these options only on mouse over to reduce visual clutter.

Facebook Fanpage Update

We put in some effort, to create a new facebook page. Up to now, we only had our wall as greeting. Now we have a much better experience for users, who want to know what we do.

The page features direct access to a demonstration board. So you can get the same fast try-out like our website provides. For our current users of Conceptboard we will show you the last accessed boards, if you are still logged in with us.

Along with this we also created a new userphoto which better shows what we do.

easy and intuitive uploads

Direct from your Desktop. Easy per Drag’n'Drop.

Dndupload

Starting today you can upload your files very easy by just dragging them from your desktop onto the board.
Drag the files from your Desktop, Explorer or Finder onto the board in your browser and drop them on the drop-target. The files will immediately be uploaded and imported.

Dokument Up- und Downloads
